City of San Jose Community Action and Pride (CAP) Grants

Community Action and Pride Grants (CAP) are intended for individual neighborhood groups (both established an emerging) seeking projects, services or activities that foster or increase safety, reduce blight and crime, and improve the quality of life in a neighborhood.  These projects may include but not be limited to: tree trimming to enhance existing lighting or crime prevention projects.

Funding

Grants generally range from $1,000 to $25,000. However, on a project-by-project basis, some grants may be funded at a higher level. A detailed budget must be included with each application.

Eligibility

All San Jose resident-based neighborhood groups are eligible for these grants.  Individuals, political campaigns, governmental entities, business associations,  and any activity with a religious message or theme are not eligible for these grants.
