The purpose of the Earth Balloon
Portable Classroom is to ignite a new interest in children for the planet
and all it has to teach us. The educational goals are flexible to the
teacher utilizing this tool.
PROGRAM
Keep San Jose Beautiful proudly
announced the purchase of a unique educational resource for schools and
neighborhoods of the City of San
José. The Earth Balloon Portable Classroom can be
utilized to teach such diverse topics as time zones, scale, the ring of
fire, geography, and population diversity.
CONSTRUCTION FACTS:
- 19 feet in diameter
- Can hold a classroom of 30 students all at
one time
- Made out of thousands of NASA photographs
- Each construction seams represents one time
zone
- Indoor use only
COST
There is a nominal fee to bring the
Earth Balloon Portable Classroom and its staff to your school or
neighborhood.

Beautiful at (408) 723-1574 or email devony.taylor@sanjoseca.gov
to reserve the Earth Balloon Portable Classroom for indoor school,
neighborhood or corporate events. Make checks payable to: Friends of San
Jose/Earth Balloon. Checks must be received one week before reservation
date.
