Monopoly in the Park

Earth Day San Jose
April 29, 2000, Arena Green, 11am-5pm- An Environmental Expo introducing innovative technological solutions to preserve our planet for the new millennium. A "hands-on" event which unites environmentalists, educators, corporate representatives and the community for an afternoon of fun, music, food, prizes, alternative energy vehicles and more!

Clean Campus Week
A competition held each Fall to determine the cleanest school campus in the City. This program encourages anti-litter behavior and pride in one's school environment.

Daffodil Planting
Each Fall, 10,000 to 15,000 daffodil bulbs are planted with the help of hundreds of volunteers in all ten San Jose City Council Districts - Come Join Us to Prepare for Spring!

Beautification Grants
A program which provides funding to schools, non-profits or other neighborhood organiziations who wish to improve visible public areas by landscaping or creating a theme garden the community can take pride in and enjoy.

Home Improvement Awards
Nominate a business, neighbor or yourself for home and community improvements! Categories include: Landscape, Structural, Historic, Commercial, and Group Effort.

Kids on the Block
The Kids on the Block Program on Vandalism Prevention has been developed to help prevent children from participating in vandalism. This is an educational puppet show that teaches children and adults about a variety of educational differences and social concerns.

Volunteer Opportunites
We need your help. Come Volunteer! We need volunteers for all programs, including the Steering Commitee which is the guiding force behind a city wide beautification and environmental education program for the City of San Jose.
